Love the illustrations of different trucks and diverse drivers in this story about the daily encounters of a family running a Truck Stop diner.
Truck Stop may or may not feature a rhyme scheme it seemed to try at times, but never fully committed Rockwell shares the story of a young boy whose family owns a Truck Stop diner and puts him to work in the mornings gasp child labor The regulars file their way in, but one regular doesn t show When the kid gets on the bus to go to school, he sees this regular broken down on the side of the road and the bus driver agrees to call for help for the poor guy Each regular is of a different race tokenism, perhaps, given that the first two people are white and the first is a white manhmmm The end pages of Truck Stop illustrate different kinds of vehicles with their names, perfect for helping children to identify various trucks.
Illustrations throughout the book are in a cut out paper style and, while a few of the pages are especially interesting to look at, I didn t feel t We always come back to this book Love this little boy, his family s dinner, and the hard working customers who frequent the place.
Wheely good fun Great illustrations and a charming story Even non truck fans will find much to enjoy ↠´ Truck Stop ↠´ This is a cute book about the happenings at a Truck Stop along the highway This little boy is a hard worker my kids say every time we read it, because he gets up to help his family at the Truck Stop before catching the bus for school.
We got this book from Dolly Parton this month It is a good book and my child loves it He said that he loves it because he loves trucks and there are a lot of trucks in this book He wailed last night because we didn t finish the book I don t mind reading it every night, but the wording is a bit clunky and really does not roll off the tongue.
My daughter received this book from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library It is a book about an old school diner Truck Stop where everybody knows everybody My daughter liked pointing out all of the different trucks in the book, but the overall story did not seem interesting to her.
This book would excellent to have for teaching children about the different types of trucks that surround them everyday I would put this book in our block center.
